SAGHONAS

Saghjna or sepulchers (Qurbonshahid village) are situated in the northwestern outskirts of the same kishlak. They occupy a brink of the second terrace of the right bank of Surkhob River, hanging over the valley. The first saghona has an egg- shaped from, 4 x 6 m. in size, covered with a cupola. Its floor is laid with brick. There are sufas along the sidewalls. The second saghona is round in shape, 3 m in diameter and 2 m high. Both saghonas are made of burnt bricks. Dated to XI – XII centuries.
