The memorial Qalaai Surkh (Red Fortress) is situated 8 km to the east of the center of the city near the village Qalaachai Surkh on the hill at the height of 25-40 m. It has a size of 60 x 60 m. In accordance to the excavations the fortress is dated back to the early Medieval Period, i.e. VI-VII.
