Mughtepa is located in the center of Istaravshan on the natural hill of the right bank of the streamlet. From the river side the hill rises 65 m while its artificial part (wooden sediment, cultural stratification deposits) has 18 – 20 metters height. The site dates back to IV BC -XIX AD.
